is it posibble to partition with out formating .. when i bought my laptop there was only one partition C .. i guess it taking all the capacity..

Yes there is but you will need a 3rd Party utility such as PArtition Magic. You should also be carefully as many new computers come with a hidden partition that contains the system image. This is used in the event that you need to reinstall the Operating System.

And sometimes Partition Magic, when resizing partitions can cause problems. Esp. if you resize an area where the OS has stored files. Have had this problem a couple of times. Just make sure you back up all your important data and files first!
