i have just bought partition magic 7.0 and the first thing i tried to do was resize my primary [giving the free space to another logical drive]. When my pc rebooted i got this message "....program xmnt2001 not found - skippng autocheck." and instead of doing the biz with my partition all i got was a normal boot-up. Can anyone help? Much appreciatied.

This sounds like you're trying to resize an NTFS partition and PM isn't able to mount the virtual DOS partition it creates. Is this a Win2K partition or XP? I think you need PM8 for XP versions of NTFS. If it's a Win2K partition, then something else is wrong.

You should be able to create the two PM7 DOS floppies and run directly from them regardless of the hard disk's partition types (FAT32/NTFS/Whatever). Worth the trouble anyway because they're great for emergencies.

Thanks. I'll try it later tonight and let you know....

Sound!!! Had a bit of a problem - a faulty floppy - but once i dug out a decent one.....
