Part of image cut off when played on DV media!!!

On a Mac I export a Director file as 640X480 Quicktime movie, then import it into Adobe Premiere. The problem is that when I play it through a miniDV recorder onto my TV, I lose part of the sides, top and bottom of the image! Is this the fault of the TV, the program, the dimensions of the movie, or what???

ALSO
Is there any way to play a Director movie directly through firewire?
