Hi I'm new to Crystal and using v8 and bought a book but it doesn't seem to have some stuff that I think is basic.

How do I reference parameters in a formula ?

How do I create functions ie formulas accepting parameters?

Thanks,

You have to create a parameter field first - do this under the "Insert" menu. Here you define the parameter type (string, numeric, date, etc) and picklist values.

You can then reference this parameter field in your formulae - it should appear in the list of available fields with as {?myParameter}

Hope this helps.
