Parameters --- reqesting ALL experts attention -- please

Parameters:

3 parameters

Parameter 1 ---- LOCATIONS (many)

parameter 2 ---- BUSINESS UNITS(many)

paramter 3 ---- DATE


Problems:

Not all locations have all business units.

FOr illustration i will choose TeXAS as a location


When i choose parameter 1 (location) the drop-down list shows 30 locations in the united states

NEXT i want to choose from Paramter 2 (Business unit) -- ALL the business units that are in the particular location i have chosen from paramter 1.

Now a person who knows what business unit is in a particular location will choose the right business units --could be one or more in that particular location.

BUT what about the person who does not know what business units are in a particular location.


Lets say the person who does not know what business unit is in TEXAS, he will choose (--) aka ALL from the buiness unit parameter -- HOPING that the right business units will come out automatically --- BUT THIS DOES NOT WORK

When i reverse the list of the parameters , putting Business unit first and parameter second

the same situation arises.


How can i make it in such a way -- that when someone chooses TEXAS as a location -- ONLY the relavent business unit that belong in texas show up automatically?

What selection code are you using? Ought to be something like

Param2 = "all" or
Param2 = {business_unit}

Do that as a formula field, which means it will come out True or False. Reference the formula field in record selection and it will select OK.
