Hi all
I want to base a pick list for a parameter field on a selection of values in a table - it's a table of schools and I only want the ones in our borough to appear in the list. I also need options for all schools, all high school and all primary schools. I've got round it by exporting a report and importing it into the default value and adding the all options. But I would preper it if I didn't have to update it every time the schools change. Is this possible? I'm using CR 8.5.

You're options are:

1) A third party reporting tool, like this from Ido Millet (one of the top guns around here):
2) If your reports are integrated with an application, you could have the application refresh the parameter lists at runtime.

3) Keep doing it manually.

Thanks, Dave...)

Fiona, it sounds like you could also use the "cascading parameter" feature in DataLink Viewer since you may want the option of first selecting borough(s) and then selecting schools in the selected borough(s)...

Cheers,

CUT, Visual CUT, and DataLink Viewer:
view, e-mail, export, burst, distribute, and schedule Crystal Reports.

Thanks for the advice - I think it will have to be manual
