When I type into a text paragraph, regardless of the jusification, the
text cuts short, breaking the last word in two.

i.e.:
"I've not know a pack-
age do this quite so
often, and yet to sol-
ve this issue."

*the '-' means the text has been broken

Thanks for any help.

...couple of options are in the paragraph palette you have the option to turn hyphenation off completely or adjust the values on offer by selecting hyphenation from the flyout menu...

...another choicve is to select the hyphenating word and select no break in the character palette's flyout menu...

Thank you, thank you, thank you! xx

I've been enquiring in a few of my usual forums for weeks now. It would have helped if I'd have known what it was called, I've never come across it before.

Is there a way I can turn it off as default? So I can easily select it to hyphenate when needed?

Thanks

Darren

...yes, launch indesign go to the hyphenation in the paragraph palette, turn it off, this will now be the default, quit and relaunch to make sure it has been changed, all documents you create will now be hyphen free...

...other features of indesign can also be set to default using this method too, for example, colours, default typeface etc...
