Hi,

anyone ever had this. Paradox 9 running on windows 2000 server. Everytime its closed on a client machine it will not open again without re-install. Luckily theres only 3 users, and because we work from home we can keep it open. It worked fine when we all used to work at the office, now weve moved into home it does this. Nothing has changed on the server and runs very well over broadband. (2mb)
Any ideas people??

Are you saying you are running Paradox, installed on the server only, over a broadband connection from home?

Or over Terminal Server?

Or ???

Details help.

Sorry tony, realised i was a bit vauge.

Its paradox installed on the server which we all remote desktop to and use. (over a broadband connection)

Hope that helps.

If you close it at 12:30 for lunch. Come back say 1 hour later and try to open it again it wont. It shows the splash screen as per normal then does nothing. Nothing appears, no error messages, nothing!!

Doesnt matter how many times you click it, restart your local machine, the server or anything. It displays the splash screen then does nothing.
:)

Try adding the -c switch to the icon that starts it.

This is for a 'c'lear desktop.

Also, I'm not sure this is a symptom, but you could delete the pdx*.cfg files. These are the toolbar files. They get regenerated by Paradox automagically if they are missing.
(PDX_EN_FULL_sbar.cfg and PDX_EN_FULL_bars.cfg, I believe)

With multiple users, likely there are going to be several sets of those files; at LEAST 2 per user. Delete (or rename) all of them.

Also, they may be hidden/system files and you need to set the server to 'show hidden/system files' in order to find all of them.
