Tony, after your help before with the first problem, ths now happens.

"If, after opening the forms, I select the option to save the settings (so the forms open automatically next time) then when I reopen Paradox it fails again and I have to delete the toolbar files to cure it"

any ideas? apologies if im being vauge again.

John

You mean you select 'Save on Exit' from the Preferences menu?

As to ideas, why do you need the form redisplayed automatically? Can you not just start them up with a script, which script you add to the icon you use to start Paradox with?

A workaround, but...

Also, to be clear...

You are running Paradox 9 under Remote Desktop then this is happening - right?

(Be sure to include the background scenario in each new topic. We don't always remember each person's scenario, even from day to day.)

wow excellent!! Thanks toby, but any idea how the command would be formatted????

"C:\Program Files\Corel\WordPerfect Office 2000\programs\pdxwin32.exe"
-q ; no startup screen
-p c:\privdirs\private ; private directory
-w c:\startdir ; working directory
startup.ssl ; startup file, including extension

Note that each item has a space in front of it. Each item is independent; use what you need.

If you insist on file names with spaces in them, you must surround with quotes.

You need a MEDAL. Thanks soooo much Toby.

If you are running under Remote Desktop, note that you can use

%username% as part of the path in the -p command (I believe it is %username%; test).

-p c:\privdirs\%username% ; private directory

Which gets each user their own private directory, rather than having to use separate icons for each user. You just need to set up the directory structure you'll use ahead of time.

Same would work for workingdir (-w), so each could have their own working space (using aliases in your app, where :work: is shouldn't matter).
