I have a very complex illus doc (30 or 40 seperate groups in a single layer). There are 3 objects where the colors will not print, only the black background. They show up on screen and are all CMYK. All other objects are printing fine.
Why are these colors not printing?

I dont know how helpful this is, but for printing you could always try saving a copy as .pdf then printing from there. I've had better luck with .pdf printing than illustrator.

Good idea jackal, that should work. Also, in the Printing & Export section of your Document Setup try checking the box for Split Long Paths. Not sure if this will help but it has made the difference for me in the past. BEHOLD! As Steve Jobs introduces us the latest in desk-lamp technology!

Thanks for the help. It turned out to be the "Ignore overprinting in Composite Output" box. But I would not have looked at the print box wothout your suggestions. Thanks.

p.s. i've just discovered this site and love it. Thanks again.
