Hi everyone,

We have installed the above system, along with a hybrid card, voicemail card and an outgoing msg card.

We are desperatly trying to set up DISA to do the following if possible:

1) Upon customer calling they hear a welcome message saying we will be with them shortly.

2) Its rings for say 1 minute

3) It then gives the customer another message saying "Sorry to keep you waiting etc" To continue holding press 1 or press 2 for voicemail.

Is this possible and does anyone know how to or can point me in the right direction on set up.

Ive tried everything and it just doesnt work. It rings and you get a beep and then it disconnects the call after 14 seconds.

any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you

that system is very basic, does not have messaging, once a call goes to all extensions it is very hard to get it to voice mail. there are ways around it if you have a spare co and ext port, but put an answering machine on an extension and have a delay ring to it is the easiest way.

you need a tda/NCP at least to do any of that.

have you recorded the ogm for disa?
make sure disa ring time after intercept is not to short and that you don't have intercept to disable.

set phones you want to ring in incoming calls

Hello,

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

We have a voicemail card installed as well as the Outgoing messaging card so apparantly it should do all of this.

Ive recorded a message but when you ring it just beeps, which im told means there is no message stored (it is though)

then it rings and diosconnects the call after 14 secs :(

Ive tried searching online for an example of how to set up the DISA levels but cant find any support what so ever.

any ideas?

an 824 will not sequence or queue calls its basic multi level
auto attendant and in your case simple voicemail on a busy no answer...

Hello,

Thanks for the reply. I understand what you mean.

when The company sold it to us, they said if we have 4 lines installed it will stick a customer on to the next available line until someone answers? so I kinda understand it does que within the system but understand they sit on one of the free lines until answered or if not after so many minutes it will present them with a voicemail message asking the to leave a message?

Is that right? If so I can handle that.

If the above is "doable" do you know how to do it?

Ive managed to record the welcome message by using programme 911 and recording.

How would you go about setting the system to divert to a voicemail after X amount of minutes?

many thanks for your time

I didn't say it was doable its not ...Its not like they said at all its like if I dial 1 for sales it can ring a group of phones and wind up in a single svm mailbox after the no answer timer runs out...thats it there is now holding of a line??? The 824 is junk for a call centre application you should have done a KX-TAW 848 or KX-TDA 50G that has true queueing options built into disa!!!

Hi,

didnt really understand anything you said there?

your system will not do what you are trying to do, not even close....read the book its got plenty of examples of what it will do which isn't much....

I am afraid you were told wrong, that system will (like cwc3 said) not do that.

best thing to do is return the voicemail card and get an answering machine

Hi thanks for the replies,

Just an update to let you know that Its now been programmed and does all of the above and seems to be working well

Since I love to learn new things, please forward your .kec file to lkeerie@woh.rr.com I'd love to see how "its now doing all of the above".

Thanks.
