Hello! I have a TDE100 installed in a school. I am trying to use the Hotline and Pickup Dial Set to create an "Auto Off Hook Call-in" feature so that if a SLT in a classroom has the handset knocked off, the front desk telephone (DPT) will be notified. I can only get it to work if no digit(s) has been entered on the dial pad. Does anyone know how to make this work if a digit has been dialed by accident or a failure to hangup? All I get know is a reorder tone. Does anyone know if I can notify the front desk if a classroom dials 911? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

make sure the pickup dial timer is set to 0, this will call straight away and you would have tp press a button very quick to stop it

Bad idea you could not make pickup dial timer a 0 for a school room phones ken think about it how would you make any calls from rooms ?Make 911(make local access *9) a icd group of 1 or 2 members like reception and nurse and make it overflow on a no answer as a fallback to *9911
Let receptionest/nurse call 911 for proper instructions to authorities that way she is in the loop so instead of the PD or FD or EMS bardging in saying weres room xxx and rec is clueless they could be met a predetermined location.

Shawn you could have a zero timer and have it call a group as you said with overflow to 911
You won't be able to use hot line after number is dialled
Is the phone used for interclass calling?

Thankyou for the quick response. I have the timer set to 15 seconds so that the classroom phones can do other things. If they do nothing after 15 seconds, the reception telephone is called. My question is, how can I still do this if an error in hanging up occurs or if some dials a digit with the dial pad? Right now a bad hangup will result in a reorder tone that goes on forever. The conversation is over (the other party hung up) but the reception is not notified that the phone is still off hook. The problem is only with SLT's. With the 911 question: I want to notify the reception that "classroom 123" dialed 911. They can then send someone to the classroom and have someone else to meet the paramedics and direct them to classroom 123. Can this be done on a TDE100? Thanks again for the quick response.

Thanks, but I am looking for something automatic and not depend on someone being alert. Anyone know about the 911 question?

no the receptionist has no idea that a 911 has been called from a room on any of the panasonic systems without some creative programing I posted above or 3rd party software interacting with the smdr port on the system.....!

Thanks for the answers. I was afraid of the 911 answer but at least now I know. Thanks again.

You could add smdr software with alerts like Genesis Express( I just looked it up on google, I am not recommending any one produt), it will e-mail or text if 911 or other preset numbers are dialed
