So i've recently setup a Panasonic NS700 system in my office and am having a little bit of trouble in setting up an automated night message when the system is in night mode. The system can make and receive calls no problem and with the way it is set at present it doesn't ring any of the phones when in night mode. I thought setting the DIL for night time to point to extension 500 would send it to the auto attendant feature but it doesn't appear to be answering when I call the system out of hours.

Would very much appreciate some help and assistance in getting this setup correctly!

I presume you have an active UM?

Need a dsp and sd for it to work, if you have then:

You need to set a dummy extension, forward this to 500.

The mailbox will be whatever the extension is(remember to create mailbox for the dummy extension).

You can set a feature key to light up with messages from that mailbox.

DIL direct to the dummy extension

I would use the Disa for AA, still recommend having the dsp for more channels for simultaneous calls

If using the UM for AA, you don’t use a dummy extension to have it go to that AA, that is for a personal AA, if you want an AA you sent it up in custom service

I do not have a DSP card installed - only what the standard unit comes with and have an LCOT6 card for analogue line support which is what I am using.
I have a standard 32GB SD Card installed into the system - I noticed that there are Panasonic specific SD cards - are these needed or do I just need to format my card in a specific way to use with the system?
I'm unsure if UM is active to be honest - am presuming it only works with the SD card being installed and recognized?

You have to buy the Panasonic um SD card and it will only work with a dsp card installed

The disa will work for 2 channels. Problem with analogue lines are the system won’t know if the caller has hung up unless you have cpc or reverse polarity on the lines

Right i've ordered a Panasonic UM SD card and also a DSP card. Thank you for your advice so far and if I get stuck once i've fitted the card's i'll be back!

As an update to this - have installed both a 2GB Panasonic UM SD Card and DSP-S card into the system now. Have allocated 10 channels on the DSP card to the UM system. Have got DIL Set to point to 500 um group 1 on the night settings. Have recorded and uploaded a custom prompt for the night menu in custom service. However even after setting all these the system is still not answering when it's in night mode - the line just rings and rings and system ignores it. I've probably missed some setting somewhere or need to activate UM somewhere which I haven't done so could someone please summarise what settings I need to adjust to make this work. My thought is that UM isn't active on the basis if I dial 500 > #6 > *998 it just rings it doesn't connect to the default mailbox at all. So can someone please provide instructions on how to enable /active UM as I cannot find any documentation on this process anywhere.

You only have 2 channels by default

If you dial 500 and it doesn’t answer, there is something wrong with the group.it should set the um ports automatically, if you change anything in um settings it could cause a problem

I haven't changed anything in the UM settings other than setting the custom service. What would the procedure be to manually setting the UM ports? I've read elsewhere that UM isn't active by default and needs to be activated is this not correct?

No, once the dsp card and sd card is installed, it will work, even if no voicemails are set for extension, it will get please enter you mailbox

Check the card is in correctly

What happens if you dial 500 on a phone

If I dial 500 internally it just rings - doesn't answer at all - it says 500- voicemail 1 on the display though. Do I need to initialise the system after installing the new cards perhaps? i'll check the cards

No, you don’t need to initialise the system

How did you assign channels on the dsp?

They were assigned within DSP Resources. I've solved it now however - I completely reinitialised the system then set it up again and now it appears working. Thanks for your advice and assistance!
