Hello everyone; I have a TDA100 system that went off during a storm due to a power outage. When the system came back on everything was fine except for the fact that the 2 DSS Consoles on the system did not work. They are both on a DLC16 card. I took a look at Extension programming and did not see an ext number in the port field, just DSS1 and DSS2. So I went to port Property in Slot programming but was not able to access it. I get an error message that says Conversion failure (no applicable data). I can access Port property on the CO cards but not the Extension cards. I can access Card property. I tried taking the card out of service (OUS) but I got the same result. Any idea what could be causing this? Also one other thing, when I try to go between programs I get the message "Do you want to save the Data" and if I choose Yes or No I get a message saying "Digits number error" I haven't tried to change anything so I don't know why it does that.I have reset the system using the reset button, and I have shut it down and restarted and still I get the Digits number error. I would think that if I accidently put in a incorrect digit, it would be cleared during a restart. Anyway I appreciate any help or ideas that you all may have. Thanks

Usually when there is a failure arising from bad power (after storm effects) the power supply may be affected rendering malfunctioning of the system in some cases. Is it only the DSS consoles and everything else is fine?. If you have a back-up of the config, i would suggest re-initializing the system and restore configuration.

If the result remains the same;
1.Test the console on a working system to rule out possibility
that is ruined.
If "1" passes, test with another extension card - that card could have been affected.

Overall in most cases where a customer reported power related causes to me affecting the system, replacing the PSU fixed it

Thanks for your input. Only the DSS consoles are affected. I put them on a different card but got the same issue. I cannot enter port property to move them to a different port. Any ideas about the "Digits number error" message?

Thanks again for all your input.

Well guys I am back. I defaulted the system and was able to access Port property. I changed ext 131 port type to DSS. I then went to DSS programming under extensions. I paired ext 101 with DSS1 but it does not work. I tried a different port with the same result. Is there something else that I must consider. I get Fault on my port but I know that it is connected correctly. Any suggestions are welcomed.

Thanks

Also, if I change the port type back to normal, a phone works on it just fine.

Did you attempt to switch 101 to a different port as well?.

Did you test the DSS console on a separate working system (PBX)?
