Hi All

I am anLG engineer and know nothing about panasonics really. Can someone explain to me in laymans terms the programming involved just to make an extension ring on external lines?

I have looked in program 452? And i get stuck when asked for jack number?

A step by step guide to making an ext ring or adding it to a ring group would be great as i have no manual.

Many thanks

Joe

Never heard of a TD612 but most panasonics when refering to jack number use the last 2 digits of the extension number if set for 3 digit extensions.

thats why I.T guys shouldn't do phone systems they
can't count to 12 :)

Since my manual goes from 440 to 453 I guessed that the box is not a U.S. version :)

maybe the want the guy that works with him's number
who's named jack???

Handling Tables? Man, I'd really pull out the last of my hair(s) if I had to deal with that :)

Hi,

I've just become the owner of a Panny KX-TD612 as well. And can you find the programming software on the net?? Not a chance.

Apparently these little PBX's came with a CD with the programming software on, but I dont have one with the system I have inherited, and I'm blowed if I can find a copy on the net.

Any Panasonic engineers out there that can help with the programming software?

Cheers

Yes, I already knew this, but I wanted to use my PC for programming.

Its all very well using a phone to do the programming, but we're not all telecomms nerds who dream about dialling **12#44129*1*2#33*103**# to enable ringing on an extension.

I just wanted a nice GUI to drag and drop features where I wanted them. I also dont like knowing there is a neat little software tool available, and not being able to find it!

Still, if no one knows where I can get hold of the programming software I suppose I'll have to do my telecom nerd impression.....

That is hardly an example of programing flexible ringing
through the keypas and you can hardly drag and drop with stock software. And i'dd much rather be a "telecom nerd" than debugging lines of code....

Ah, ok. I've given up on the software and have dived in using the handset to programm the thing.

The one problem I have got is that for the life of me I cant work out how to divert my ISDN lines to my mobile phone. We used to have analogue lines and to acheive this we did

*21* mobile number #

and this would re-route our incoming calls to my mobile. (#21# cancells it)

How the heck do I do this with the panny? I have worked out I need to program a soft key on the phone and set it to 89 (ISDN Service Key) but then I need to put in the ISDN Service Number. I presume there is a specific Service Number for call divert, and another one to cancell the divert, but I cant find out what this is.

Or I could be barking up the completley wrong tree. Any clues please?

thx )

can't help you there we did not have the 612 or isdn in the
states.....!

not sure exactly as its been years since i set this up, and never on a 612, but the theory behind it is the same. program an isdn service key and then for the dial string enter *21<forwarding destination>***<number to forward>#
to set the forward, seize one of the isdn trunks and then press the isdn service key that you programmed. this should send the codes down the line's dchannel and set the forward.

you'll need a cancel key to and to do that, its the same process except a different code: #21***<number to cancel forward>#
however, i'm not sure about the amount of *'s in the cancel code. might only be 2 *'s. Also, ISDN call forward needs to be activated on your lines. It isn't a default feature when you order the lines. (At least as far as I've seen in aust and I gather that as you've quoted the Telstra c.f. codes that you too are in aust)

Anyway, let us know how you go with that.
