I have a KX TA624 and would like to be able to have the extensions ring when a door bell is pressed. I do not need to be able to talk to the person at the door or open the door remotely. Wiring to the door is difficult, but I have found a wireless bell system that offers a set of relay contacts on the receiver, as well as the usual audible chime.

If I add a KX-TA62460 door phone card, is there any way I could get it to ring the extensions using such a pair of contacts?

put the contacts from the door bell accross the door phone contacts and program phones to ring for that door when relay closes

Thank you for the response. So I can effectively just short the relevant pair of terminals on the Panasonic doorphone card to initiate the ringing (assuming the PBX is programmed appropriately.) No need for a resistor in the circuit?

If you want to put a resistor in it you could. not sure how high a resistor to go before if does not trigger the door phone.

it will only need a short pulse to trigger the door call as the timer will keep it ringing as long as you have it set for.
As far as I know and have not tested fully, is that the press of the bytton grounds the + leg of the door card to trigger call

Thanks again for your help. I have purchased the card now, so will try it out when it arrives.
