Hi All

We just recently bought a KX-TES824 sustem with a door entry module. The door intercom seems to be working fine but we are having severe problems with the door opener. I have measured the output from the system with a multimeter and it doesn't generate anything which makes me think that the system simply closes the circuit for a specified amount of time and the lock should be connected to a DC adapter. The rim latch only accomodates two input cables which when connected to an adapter open the door but how do I fit the telephone system here?
Could anyone shed some light on this?

What you do is run one leg of the power supply to the door lock and the other leg to oneside of the door opener, the other side of the door opener goes to the other leg of the door lock, so when you dial 5 to open the door on a key set, it closes the relay giving you the completed circuit to release the lock.
When you say rim lock, is this for a yale type lock with the tung going in to the recever, if so you would be better off with a AC power supply so it will make a buzzing noise when opened. or put a buzzer accross the lock to buzz so people at the door will know it is open

obtsystems you're a star!!! Finally got it running. Still not sure how I'm going to reflect this on the patch panel but that's a lesser problem. Many Thanks!
