After I opened my Palm Desktop (V. 4.1.2) software, which came with my Palm Tungsten E, I clicked on the Calendar, clicked on the button, "Go to..." and I got a message reading, "Select Year" I selected "1943." I clicked on "OK" and that took me to another message, which read, "Please enter an integer between 1970 and 2031." I clicked on "OK." The Palm Desktop apparently does not go back before January 1, 1970.
Meanwhile, my Palm Tungsten E allows me to go back to 1943 and before to put in a date. When I sync the Palm Desktop (Calendar) with the Palm Tungsten (Calendar) where I previously entered a date in the year 1943 (and to Repeat it), it does not show up in the Palm Desktop software as a Repeat date except as - from January 1, 1970 and each year after that, because the Palm Desktop software does not go back that far in time (before 1970). Can anyone fix that problem with the Palm Desktop software, so that it can also go back to 1943, or before? Is there an update to the Palm Desktop that I am unaware of, or this a flaw in the Palm Desktop (Calendar) module, and if so could there be more that I am also unaware of.
I don't want to sync my Palm with Outlook, or Netscape because I then have to still use the Palm Desktop to sync My Photos, MP3s, Docs-To_Go, etc. I e-mailed two Palm techs who didn't seem to understand American English too well and a third on the phone who set me straight on what Palm (the company) could do --- next to nothing.
Thank you.
