Palm PDB Beaming How?

I know that its very simple to beam PRC files between Palms, but I had thought it would be a trivial thing also to be able to beam PDB files. Unfortunately, I am not finding this feature available in the standard Palm 3.5 or higher OS.

What did I miss? Do I need to download another utility?

PDB's are gererally only available through specific applications. For example, WordSmith stores it's documents as .pdb files.

To beam a .pdb file you'll generally need to go to the application that allows you to access the file's data. In other words, to beam a WordSmith doc, you need to use the "beam" feature from within WordSmith. To beam address data you'll need to use the Address Book's beam feature (which allows you to select a category to beam (select "All" to beam all of the data when beaming by category).

This is not, of course, taking into consideration the possibility of a third party application providing additional beaming funtionality to your device.

I hope this helps.

Yes, it did thanks.

I developed a Palm Application that I wanted to try on my other PDA. Unfortunately, I have to purchase another utility or program library to add this feature. Sigh! So, it will have to wait for now. Anyhow, your response was appreciated.

Thanks again,

Gary
