I have a new Palm M105 that used to hotsync fine with Windows 98. I recently got a new computer with WindowsXP and I can't get a connection with the PC when I hotsync. I currently have a splitter cable on my serial port and the other device works just fine, but the Palm gets no repsonse. I took it off the splitter and hooked it up by itself to no avail. So, I was wondering if anyone else had had problems with Windows XP and the hotsync software, or if I need to keep trying. I've changed the com ports also and it still doesn't connect.
Thanks for any help anyone can offer!

You mentioned removing the spitter cable. Did you close the application that was accessing the serial port? Only one device/application can access a serial port at a time.

Yes .. I even took it off the splitter and hooked it up directly to no avail. However, I ended up getting a serial to USB adapter for the PDA and now it works fine, but I'm still confused as to why it didn't work before, especially when it was hooked directly to the port. Thanks!
