1. What are the steps to follow in After effetcts to convert PAL DV to NTSC DV ?

2. Is there any quality loss ?
3. Did any one do comparision with other products meant for such converstion like Canopus Procoder 2 or FireStorm DV ??

PAL = 626

NTSC = 525

There are 100 lines of resolution that are compressed out. While the image isn't as soft as NTSC -> PAL, yes, there's quality loss.

PAL plays back more slowly (reason for more lines of resolution), so what you gain in scanlines, you lose in time.

Never used DV Encoder/Transcoder. D1 Standards conversion is the way to go.

Thanks for the response.

But what is D1 Standards conversion ?? and How it can be achived ?

By saying never use DV Encoder/Transcoder, do you mean that
alternate to using After effects, Procoder2 or TMPG tool is wrong as it uses encoder/transcoder ??
