I have been working on Illustrator for almost a year now and up to just a few days ago I have not had any problems whatsoever with the fill function on the paintbucket. Now a few days ago, it seems that when I use the pen tool to make personalized letters for web pages, the fill function only fills the outside of the image and not the inside where I need it. I have this half-done web page because of this and am working on a pretty tight schedule. My school is closed for the next three days so I can't ask my instructors....can anyone help? Thanx.

I'm not sure how to post images on this forum, so if you want the image, just post a reply with your e-mail and I'll send you the .ai file...cool

Double click the paintbucket tool. Under Appearance you're basically best off if everything's checked.

If you're selecting using the Magic Wand, Double click that & make sure that Fill is checked. If you need fill & stroke, make sure bothare selected.

Hope you didn't rasterize an object before doing this. If so, try undoing the rasterization.

I did what the previous post said but to no avail. I tried placing the object un-filled into photoshop and fill it there, but there are areas around the image that are white...the same areas that get filled....any other suggs would be greatly 'preciated. Thanx

I figured it out. I case anyone has the same problem, make sure that when you desect and reselct a control point with the pen tool...make sure that there is a line next to the pen icon on your image before placing the new point. If not, it will not be a solid image and the fill will be all screwed up.

Draw a rectangle. Fill - Stroke - Effect as you wish and keep selected. Open Graphic styles window and click New Graphci Style.

Draw your stuff with the pen tool and click on your saved style. The letter will then all follow your design.
