Hello to all.
Have an interesting situation.
Installed an IPO 500 about a year ago and they had me install a Viking PA-30 paging/night ringer module for their warehouse.
I connected the ringer terminals to an analog port on a Combo Card, put the that extension in a group and that works fine.
I connected the paging terminatls to the other analog port, set up the extension as a speaker pager, with Dial Paging setup to do the page.
Installed the equipment, all worked well for a while.
I have not upgraded any software or changed any hardware.
Now, the paging part seems to be stuck on. The paging light on the module always stays on like it is being paged even when it isn't. The only way to get the light to go off is to disconnect the analog port from the Viking.
When this paging gets stuck it over rides the night ringer so neither one works the way it is supposed to.
I have read several places about putting an analog phone "Off Hook" on the paging port, then hard reboot the IPO and that does something that allows the system to recognize the port as a paging port better. I have done that, but no change.
Since this worked for quite some time, and then stopped, I am not sure if the port has gone bad, or the paging module has gone bad, or I have a simple interconnection problem.
I have wondered if I need an audio transformer between the port and the Viking because of possible impedence mismatch.
Any thoughts or ideas?
Thanks to all.
