Hi.

I am completely new to NEC's SV8300 and almost have no idea as to how this technology works.
I have had experiences with Cisco PBX though.

I am wondering how would I be able to execute a mutlicast page on the phones connected to the SV8300.
I have 2 phones, DT700 (ext 4000) & DT800 (ext 4001) which were readily by someone for me.

I have read a couple of documents like the SV8300 Programming manual using PCPro.
In that software, I've set my extensions to Internal Zone Paging Group 00:

I have also read that by default, All Paging Zone group is enabled.

What do I have to do now, on the phones and the SV8300, to be able to page to this internal zone group?

Please spare my lack of knowledge on this as I am still trying to learn the ins and outs of the system.

Dial the zone paging code or add a button to the phone. Paging codes may still be at the default value, or not depending on the original installer.

Thank you for the reply @belevedere.

I believe this is all set to default.
May I know what the default values are for paging codes and how to set them up to be customized?
Also, how would I be able to assign a button to the phone?
I have the 12-button DT700.

I'm reading at sv8300 Single Line Telephone User Guide and I see that on the sv8300, they have to be dialed.
I don't know what extension that is or how to set it up.

Do I have to set it up through the Wizard > CM56?

Thank you again for the support.

The default internal page code for group 0 is 50. A button can be assigned in MB 90XX, the button code for group 0 is A130.

Hi @belevedere,

The moment I dial 5, my phone goes into a fast beep tone.

I was able to page to the phones in the internal group 0 though by assigning access code 1001 to A130.

Now I'm wondering whether this approach is right or not?
Also, I had to set the 'Specification of Paging Zone' to '00:00' which I believe is the first group.
Is that still necessary?

Additional question @belevedere,

I noticed that the paging on the SV8300 is not using multicast.
It seems to me that it's bouncing off the RTP to the phones in the internal zone group.

Is it possible to use mutlicast for internal paging and what do I need to do to achieve that?
