I'm trying to access a Paging Trunk on a Meridian 1 from an IP Phone on a Cisco Call Manager. Both systems are tied via a PRI. I have the same setup elsewhere and it works fine but on this particular site, I have no audio when accessing the Paging trunk... Here's a TRAC of both Paging TN's;

It seems like it's not picking up a "Junctor" ???

Can anyone help?

Thanks.

are you running the same codec on both sites? also check the ascess list on routers unique to the trouble spot.. that would be a long shot.. what is the trunk start type? if it;s iao try calling from the trunk to the station

The trunk is OGT only and yes, both site use the same codec. I'm starting to wonder if it wouldn't be a missing patche (PBX) on the problematic site...

call from the CISCO side to analog phone on pbx and see if you have talkpath. (to rule out a talkpath issue from cisco to pbx on analog)

TRUNK TO TRUNK should work, but check the RDB for the paging to see if there is any diff between the sites. Also, compare the printout of the COT TNS for the page trunk.

The CDP part works fine, I can call both analog or digital phones on the PBX from the Cisco side. It's just when dialing and ACOD on the PBX, from the Cisco, that I seem to loose the talkpath.

is the trunk programed lop or grd? should be lop.

I perfer to use a Valcom v-9940 or v-9970 centrex page adaptor tied to a 500 port. It is easier to trouble shoot and compensates for trunk to trunk line loss. The volume sounds the same weather accesed from local or remote system.

It's working fine if I use a 500 set tied to the TAM B, the problem becomes how do you manage access restriction?? I don't want all users to be able to access the paging system...

Bingo! I set MANO to YES in the RDB of the Paging Trunk and it got it working. What I don't get though is that on another site where I have the same setup, MANO is set to NO on the RDB of the Paging Trunk and it's working... Same chassis, Meridian 1 OP81, same PRI QSIG between the PBX and the Voice Gateway,same Trunk card (NT8D14)...
