we can use our pbx to make page announcements through bldg. I thought I found where to change code under feature access codes but no go. My problme is that users have discovered code from htting last number dialed key so i need to change it.

I removed the last number dialed button from users that do paging so that it won't happen again.

our exmaple is right now 123#

what type hardware platform and CM version

Paging can be a TAC trunk access code
list trunk-group

"change paging loudspeaker" is a place to program codes with zones

we have a definity g3si. I have the info up, if I want to change code do I need to creata a new "Voice Tac" to work correctly?

JM

are you changing trunk-group or paging loudspeaker?

display / change dial-plan analysis will show valid first digits available to use for any TAC or DAC

I need to change paging loudspeaker, if I just change the TAC will it work? I don't have the procedure to do so.

JM

yes, it will
If it is a code that is not compliant with dial-plan analysis, it will return an error and not let you change it.

ok, I guess I'm looking for some direction in regard to either a new setup or how to change my code.

JM

Just put in a new code that is not used anywhere else & that is compatible with your dialing plan.

Step 1: "disp dial ana" and find the entry or entries that are for call type "dac" (dial access code). Note what digit(s) the DAC entry begins with, and the call string length. For example, we have two DAC entries: 3 digits in length, beginning with 17, and 4 digits in length, beginning with 87.

Step 2: Using ASA, run the "Find Unused Extensions" to find available extensions in the range that you need.

Step 3: "cha pag loud" and type in the new codes.
