Hi,
I have an IP Office 500v2 8.1 recently installed. We have an analog station port set up for paging to a Bogen PCM2000 paging controller. Upon installation this worked for about 1 month, then stopped working. I spent time with Avaya support troubleshooting and verifying that it was set up properly. They say that as long as I can page to my test set speaker, which I can, then the Avaya IPO is working as it should. So then I call Bogen support to troubeshoot the PCM. They say as long as I can go off hook with my test set connected to the TEL input, and make a page over the amplifier, then everything is OK on the paging side. So Avaya says the problem must be with Bogen, and Bogen says the problem must be with Avaya. I have tried changing that port to IVR, rebooting with it connected to the paging port, rebooting with it connected to an analog phone off hook, changing the paging port to a different module all to no avail. By the way, the Avaya support guy said my call was the third one he had regarding this issue with the PCM where it once worked and then stopped, but he had no more advice or suggestions, and said there were no known issues with these devices not working with each other. Anyone out there have any ideas?

Thanks in advance

worked for a month then stopped working means either something changed or something went faulty. what happens when you try and page? do you get busy? what do you see in SSA?

You have on ebig problem on your setup
Avaya is setup to page out of an extension port it seems but then the Bogen is set to send voltage to modulate voice to the system
that means that both sides send out voltage and they might not like each other very much.

Hook up the Bogen with the same settings to an analog line port and change of course the shortcode and the line ID and you should be fine or change the Bogen setup to not supply voltage and you should also be fine as well but teh way it is described above causes problems.

Here is a trace of an attempted paging call. When dialing *6, the short code for paging, all you get is dead air. What I should get is the paging confirmation tone from the Bogen PCM. I did check with Bogen and there is no power or current coming out of the TEL input on the PCM, and they confirmed that this is set up correctly, an analog station port to the TEL input.

Can you leave your test set connected in the monitor mode in parallel with the amp and get the paging to work? If this works simply place a 600ohm resistor across the Tip and Ring and this should resolve the issue. Not sure why it worked for a month.
