Hello,

Is it possible to set up paging from an auto attendant so an employee can call in remotely get the AA, enter a code and page? Could the caller be parked so anyone could pick them up? Had a customer ask this and thought it would be handy if possible. Thanks in advance for any help.

The paging part is no problem, bear in mind if while making a page someone presses the conference button they will be connected to the caller. Would this work for you? I don't think you could park the call after transferring it to a paging shortcode.

Amriddle01,

Someone pressing the Conf button shouldn't be an issue, can you point me in the right direction in how to set this up?

Thanks

Firstly yo need to configure the group of phones you want to page too, then create a shortcode with the feature Group paging with the telephone number being that of the group you created. Test this and make sure it works. Then create a module in VM pro with a menu that has a prompt asking for the PIN and add your own touch tone to match the code say 77687 and point the invalid to a disconnect or a prompt. connect a tranfer action to the shortcode you created to your touch tone box in the menu. Lastly point an Incoming Call route number to the module (e.g VM:paging).

Sorry that should be "dial paging" not group paging

amriddle01, thanks for the info, we have it set up and working, do you know of any way for someone internally to pick up that call after they are paged?

Thanks

Pressing the Conference button on the handset should work.
Dial Paging

Makes a paging call to an extension or group specified. If no number is specified, this can be dialed after pressing the button. The target extension or group members must be free and must support handsfree auto-answer in order to hear the page.

On Avaya phones with a CONFERENCE button, a paged user can convert the page call into a normal call by pressing that button.

Thats from the help...did you try that?
