PageMaker 7.0.1a update - now available (31/03/04)

The Adobe® PageMaker® 7.0.1a software update addresses several issues identified in PageMaker 7.0.1. This update is available for the Windows® platform only in English, French, and German only.

Issues that are addressed in this update include:

Compatibility
PageMaker 7.0.1a addresses compatibility issues with Adobe Acrobat® 5.0, Acrobat 6.0 Standard, and Acrobat 6.0 Professional.

Security
PageMaker 7.0.1a does not automatically apply Adobe Standard security settings (40-bit RC4) while creating PDF 1.2, PDF 1.3, and PDF 1.4.

File save
PageMaker 7.0.1a corrects a problem with saving files that would occur only when the target to the My Documents folder was changed from its default location. Under this scenario, users will now be prompted to save changes, and changes will be successfully saved when the user clicks Yes to the prompt.

PPD compatibility
PageMaker 7.0.1a no longer shuts down when switching between PPD files available with some Canon® print servers.

Attention for German users: The 7.01a update kills your shortcuts! Example: the "CTRL-SHIFT-F" command no longer choses the bold font style; it changes the paragraph you're in to forced grouped style.
The 7.01a update can't be uninstalled for its own. You'll have to reinstall Pagemaker completely to get your well-known shortcuts back.
I don't know if this is only a PM-on-Windows problem or if Mac users will have the same problems.

Hi, kroppi,

Yes, there have been several reports that the shortcuts are English rather than German with Pm7.0.1a.
