When I convert a pagemaker file to pdf and then open the pdf, the image is cut off around the edges as if the page size is wrong. Sort of like placing an 8.5 by 10 page in a 7.5 by 9 frame. Any ideas?
make sure that the page layout size of PM is the same as the page layout size of the setup on the PDF.
How are you creating the PDF file? What do you mean by image... do you have one image that is the entire size of the PM page? I recommend not to use Export, but to print to .ps file and then open Distiller and create PDF from Distiller.
How was the image placed? Never copy/paste to place an image, use PM's File>Place command.
The page is pretty much standard (environmental magazine). I think the dimensions are 8.5 by 10.25 or thereabouts. It is very heavy with graphics which were placed not pasted.
the best way to describes what happens is that when you open the pdf , it looks as if you had placed an 8 by 10 frame around the image and everything above that was blocked. Just won't show the full image.
I have not tried to go directly to ps first but will this evening. One other thing is that when I open the pdf, the page size at the bottom does not match the orginal and is MUCH smaller for some reason.
You might want to play around with different PPDs.. try the standard one that comes with Adobe... try selecting different Printers and drivers when making the PDF. Is this for Print or Web? If it is for web, youmay try
