I can't seem to print graphics anymore out of Pagemaker. I could a few days ago, but now, unless I delete all graphics, my imagesetter refuses to print the page at all. I have tried several different documents and have gotten the same result. Help.

Hi, printgirl,

We need a bit more to go on.

Which version of PM and which version of Windows/MacOS?
What's the format of the graphics?
I take it the printer is a Postscript device?

I am using PageMaker 6.5 with the Windows XP environment. The type of graphics that won't print (the only kind I really use and have tested) are .tif files. It seems a little b&w tif was fine in one particular document, but when I tried to print a slightly larger cmyk .tif version of it, that was a no go--even though I was only printing a composite file and not trying to do a color sep, which shouldn't have been a problem in either case anyway. A colleague of mine just told me I might want to try reloading the whole program again. I thought I might try that in the morning. Thanks for possibly trying to figure this out with me.

Not recommended.

Does your publication print OK if you remove the graphic?

Yes. When I remove the graphic, the file prints fine. BUT I used to be able to print large graphic files all day long without this problem. Somewhere along the line, though, the evil XP forces decided they didn't want me printing anything more than text. This is definitely a problem for me. Any insight or suggestions?

Thanks--

Is the Tif file possibly 16-bit? Go to Image>Mode to find out, if so, convert to 8-bit.

When in doubt, deny all terms and defnitions.

oh, good idea viol8ion. I will try that.
