Pagemaker and duplex printing problems with HP8550

Dear all,

When I print my Pagemaker 6.5 document to HP8550 using the duplexing option i experince problems with pages being missed or printed on the incorrect side thus causing further formating problems. I have tried reloading drivers from HP , experimenting with settings in Pagemaker and the driver without any success.

Any suggestions to help solve this would be greatly appricated

p.s I'm not really and experienced PM user.

Is the HP printer postscript? If so, make sure you have the PPD for the printer in the correct folder (C:\Adobe\Pagemaker\RSRC\[your language]\PPD4). If it is not postscript, then the duplexing problem most likely lies with the printer.

Just to clarify, is this print job straight from Pagemaker as a .pmd, or once you have created a pdf of the document? I think Eggles is probably right in his assumption that it is most likely the printer. Have experienced similar difficulties, as above, but with reinstallation of drivers, problem was corrected. Since you've already tried this, let us know more...
