Hi there,

I'm trying to grow from QuarkXPress towards InDesign CS3.
One of the fine things in the Quark interface is, that I can in text mode easily browse pages, while pressing the 'Alt' key (Apple). In InDesign I must press the space bar to do this. But when the text tool is selected and I want to browse pages, I get often a lot unwanted spaces in the text. That's quite annoying.
Is there in InDesign a way to solve this problem or assign a non-text key to browse with?

Greetz,
Funky.

As far as I know - it's not editable.

Why do you want to edit it? When you're in text box use the alt key to move the page.

When you're outside the textbox use space to pan.

The shortcut key for the hand tool is H and that is editabel (Edit>Keyboard Shortcuts) and you'll find it under Tools or something.

Another solution: InDesign has some keyboard presets used in Pagemaker and QuarkXPress. I've selected the Quark preset. Voila!

Hi Funky,

It is a good alternative.
Althought i don't know if you would leave it on the QuakXpress keyboard shortcuts.
If you are thinking to switch to Indesign, it's best to learn the standard keyboard shortcuts.
Ofcourse you can make your own shortcuts, you need.
