I have a doc that is 33" x 25.5" and want to tile it across nine 8.5" x 11" sheets. Simple, right? Wrong. Double clicking the page tiling tool aligns page 17 or something to the lower left edge, while page 1 is completely off the document. Why is there no way to align page 1 to the TOP left? All right, there isn't, so I try for 1/2 an hour to move the page tiling tool in some mysterious way so as to approximately get page 1 to the upper left but there is no rhyme or reason to the use of the tool that I can see. (The manual says nothing about this.) Am I missing something obvious? (Using Illustrator 10, Mac G4, "tile imageable areas.") Thank you for your help.

I'm thinking maybe you have Tile Imageable Areas selected in your print options when you should actually have Tile Full Pages selected.

THEN you can double click your page tool and it will center the tiles.

Thanks Dimoj, but with "tile full pages" selected 1) I lose portions of my image at the edge between pages and 2) it only tiles up to 9 pages, and sometimes my documents require more pages to fully tile. With "tile imageable areas" the whole image is printed--after trimming, I can line up the edges of adjacent pages without loss--and there is not a limit to the # of pages. But unfortunately, I then run into the problems of alignment described above.
