page numbers in sections not printing correctly

I have a user who has a document that is split into sections.
For each section she wants the pages numbers to show page x of y.
For example Section 1 is 20 pages she wants it to show page 1 of 20 page 2 of 20 etc.
This is working on screen. When she prints the document and we have had others try as well the page numbers show Page 1 of 1 page 2 of 2 page 3 of 3 and all the way to 20.

I don't understand why this will show correctly on screen but not printed.
Any ideas???

In a lot of cases reversing the print order fixes the problem. But, it can be a lot of pain, you know where.

You may need to install a service Pack to resolve the problem.

The Header / Footer toolbar should include an option to make the header or footer in a section the same as in the previous section. This often gets rid of page numbering problems.

I have this fixed. It was the field codes were set wrong. Thanks for all your help!

Try 'Tools''Options' 'Print'and untick the 'Background Printing' tab, I had the same problem some time ago and this did the trick, hope it works for you too.
