Does anyone know why the page numbering is off in a report.
The print preview will say 1 of 7 pages but then there are only 5 printed pages and there is no missing data. The final page says 5 of 7. I have deleted the page# field and saved the report and re-added the field( thinking something was corrupted) all to no avail. Any thoughts or ideas.
Thanks Mark

Not sure why you are getting that. But you say you have a page# field?

In the Report Footer, create an unbound text box that has the following control source...
Code:
="Page " & [Page] & " of " & [Pages]

That should work.

My apology. I should have said to put the text box in the Page Footer, not the Report Footer.

Sorry. I didn't mean to throw you a curve.

Tom I have tried your suggestion and I still get incorrect
page numbering. I also retried the Insert page numbering wizard, both @ the top and bottom location of the report and I still get the same output problem. Print preview shows 7 pages actual print is 4. The page count is now correct on the printed copy as long as the report is printed from the print preview view. Oddly the page count in the view mode is wrong.

That doesn't make much sense...can't think of what is making that show like that. Do you have some code behind the report's Detail section that forces a new page upon a certain conditions, or anything such as that? Or is the report straightforward?

What you might try is creating a test report that has very few fields in it but goes onto at least two pages, and put the page number construction in the Page Footer and see what you get.

Tom buried under a control was a pagebreak based on conditions. I didnt find it until I started disassembling the report control by control. Thanks for the great help and tips.
