Page Number Problem

Running CR8.5

I have a 5 page letter that can be longer depending on what data is passed in I have the entire letter placed in my Report Header Section and have Keep Together turned off so that the letter can continue on to the other pages. I need a page number at the bottom of each page printed. I put in the Page Header Section but it will only print the page number on the last page.

I have made the Report Header Section into 2 sections(A,b,c) In the first section(A), i have the option turned on to start a new page after that section since I only want certain info on that first page.

I also tried putting the page number in the report footer section, but it didn't even show up at all this time on the print!

I know it is something silly that I am missing. Maybe I should put the letter in another section? I need the capability to turn off the keep together option and start new page after option for this letter.

It would bes best for performance, and formatting if you put the text of the letter in a details section. I have had some VERY strange behavior when I tried to do too much in the headers.

Report header completes before the PH and PF print, so they won't get to print your page numbers. You can use a GH if you add a group on an appropriate field, or you can use details. Ken Hamady, On-site/Phone Crystal Reports Training/Consulting

As soon as I posted this question, I went back into CR and realized that I just needed to do Groups and that would fix that problems and a few others. Sorry! I am still new to this program!
