Hi there. I am using Crystal version 9. I have added the Special Field called Page N or M to my Page Header. When I generate the data in Crystal, I see the proper info. However, when I place the report on my web server and generate the data, on page 1, I only see "Page 1". On Page 2, I see "Page 2 of 2". I am missing the "of 2" part on Page 1. I hope this makes sense. Any thoughts on why this may be happening?

Thanks!
Katie

Hi,
Try this experiment..After the report displays, go to the last page..Then go back to the first page ( not using the browser's back, but the navigation arrows in the viewer)..
Does the 'Of M' part now show the correct number?

CR's viewer will not show the total pages until all the pages have been loaded..( That changes in V10 or XI ( cannot remember which, but I think XI), if you use 'Page N of M' on the first page, the report will not be displayed until all the pages have loaded)

Hi! Just tried this (viewer Back and not browser Back) and no, this does not make the rest "of M" part show up. It still shows "Page 1" only. The weird thing is that I can use this same viewer with other reports and the "N of M" shows up on the first page properly. This is a report that I took over from someone else and it has 3 subreports, which I am not very familiar with working with. I have other reports with subreports that show up the "N of M" properly, so I am not sure what this report's problem is. Very frustrating. : )

Have you tried removing the field the special field and adding it back? The only other thing i could think of is that this person may have writtena suppression type formula in the section expert, or something.

Good Luck...

Yep, tried that to. I even tried placing a brand new N of M in the footer, putting in a Page #, text field with 'of', and total pages to see what would happen and the Page # and 'of' displays, but not the total pages (on page 1 only). Yikes. Very strange. Thanks for your ideas though!

Is the first page all REPORT HEADER...?

In some reports if you have a sub-report or chart in the REPORT HEADER that takes up all of the first page, then the total page count does not get calculated.

Hi! No, the first page is not all report header. I have a report header with nothing in it and it is Hidden. I also have a Page Header, Details a-d, page footer and report footer. The sub reports are in details a,c and d.
