Hey all. Am having a problem with getting the status code within my web page headers to display properly.

While checking for broken links I am being returned plenty of "bad requests" for pages that are clearly still valid.

Is this some sort of cookie/session issue maybe? Am not really up on this kinda stuff.

Thanks

difficult to diagnose from afar. are you in control of the pages generating the bad request? if so you should know whether there are session issues etc. but it would be odd for simple linked pages to be behind logins etc.

what is the exact status response?

I am also assessing external links which is where I am getting most problems. The links are not all that simple either most of which include parameters on the URL.

I am getting different responses from different pages, some of which are fine (200 OK, 302 Found) but my most common problem are pages returning 400 Bad Request while the links are still working.

if it's a true 400 error code then there is typicaly something wrong with the request. do the precise url's work from a browser? and do they work if you use opera and switch off the information sent about the browsers and cookies etc or even better if you telnet to the site and enter the GET information manually do you also get a 400 error?
