This site earlier showed me how to use chr(10) as a line feed character when I want to programmatically format a complicated multi-line report fields (as in suppressing blank lines in an address).

Is there a manual that details other formatting characters? We use Oracle Forms and Reports v6 with Oracle v9i and when the user 'Distributes' report output from the Report Previewer into a MS Doc, the output is placed in what looks like a cell in a Word table. All of the reports formatting characteristics get lost (all fields are left justified). I was thinking that there must be a way to do this.

Any help is greatly appreciated,

Hi Ronbo3554,

I have tried to save the report output as an html page and report formatting remains the same atleast for html page.

Instead of saving Reports Preview
use File-> Administration->Generate Docs..

I donot remember its exact name. But this particular option of 'Generate' has 4-5 options which suggests into which format we require the option e.g HTML etc.

Select the document type into which the report output should be converted, The report automatically runs and generates the output in that type.

Let me know if you are successful.
