Well, you shouldn't be creating the whole page in fireworks unless it's a mockup of a design, if that's what you mean.
This link (about half way down) gives you stats about how many people use different monitor resolutions. Web design puritans will probably say that you should be coding for 800 x 600 screens so that you don't exclude a large portion of your audience.
