Just select "keep together" on either the field in the field format, on the section in the section expert or on the whole group in the change group....whichever makes the most sense.
If you are using CanGrow it can sometimes override the section keepTogether, but you can always add a dummy group and use KeepGroupTogether. Ken Hamady, On-site Custom Crystal Reports Training & Consulting

This might be a simple question, but is there a way to inset a page break so that each item in a group starts at the top of a new page?
I tried the "keep together" option mentioned above for the group, but then most of the time one item is printed on one page, but sometimes two items are. I think for my report I'd rather have consistency than try to save space.
This report will never be printed anyways, and I'm not a "screen-hugger".
Keep Together is not designed to do page breaks.
To do page breaks go to the section expert (Format Section) and use the "New Page Before" on that group header. Ken Hamady, On-site Custom Crystal Reports Training & Consulting

If I do "New Page Before" for the group header, then my first page is blank. The Page header a and b do not get printed on page 1 for some reason. Is there any reasoning behind this? Thanks,
If the first page is truly blank, then you need to suppress you (empty) report header. Ken Hamady, On-site Custom Crystal Reports Training & Consulting
