I have created an application which needs to run on various operating systems.what are the measures to be taken for this ? How should I make it compatible for all operating systems?

This is such a tricky situation and it has been a thorn in my side for years. There is software out there that checks for this kind of thing but there just not reliable. I have an second box that I use just for testing. I ghost it with different OS's and test/debug the install and app on each one. This is what has worked best for me.

What do you mean by ghosting it with different OS ? My application will be basically for the Windows OS.
