Hello,

When certain users try to use OWA 5.5 they get the "OWA was unable to get to your inbox" error. I'm running OWA in the same NT 4 (sp6a) as exchange 5.5. The curious thing about this problem is that just a couple of users get this error. I have search the MS site for answers and have not been able to find a solution.
Any help on this matter will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

OK, try this:

Change their alias in their mailbox properties.

So instead of having say:
John.smith

use
jsmith

I had to do this for a few folk (well me!) and I've never got round to try and figure out why theis screwed up!

Let me know how you get on.

Iain

Tried that and did not work. I also tried deleting the mailbox and recreating it. That work for a few days then it failed again. I tried uninstalling OWA and reinstalling it, but now OWA will not reinstall on the machine. Now, I'm worst than I started because now nobody can use OWA on that particular machine. I'll keep looking I know the solution is somewhere (upgrade to exchange 2k perhaps).By the way, do you know if exchange 2k will work on NT 4 and without using AD on the network? Thanks for your suggestion anyway.

Are you using outlook 2003 to access any of the mailboxes in the exchange server? If so there is a patch you need to apply for OWA to work properly. It's on the microsoft website.

I would try logging in via user@domain.com. You may want to change the alias name to something way out there, that you know is not ambiguous. You need to either restart the Exchange Directory (not practical) or wait as there is a latency before this takes effect.

Hope this helps
