I'm unable to connect to my Exchange 2000 EVS using OWA with the IP Address, it will only allow connection using its name, is this by design or can I change something to allow this?

Are you testing from the internal LAN or via the internet ?

if from the inside, both IP and Name should work, if your local DNS is configured correctly.

From the outside (internet), you need to have a hostname registered at your ISP (eg. webmail.company.com).

Regards,

Peter

It's on the internal LAN.

DNS appears to be configured correctly for the EVS, I can perform both Forward & Reverse lookups on it.

XPDude,

* Try running it from the exchange server locally
* Check your internet explorer settings if a proxy server is used; try without the proxy server, or specify it should bypass proxy for internal LAN

Please post back if not helpful; we'll get there in the end.

Reg,

Peter
