Dear all,

I have 2 Exchange 2000 server on my company. One has been installed the SSL so that user can check email through
My question is: If my mailbox is located at Secondary Exchange 2000. When I tried to access the web mail through , it cannot access the secondary Exchange.

But if I type http instead of https, then it work.

Why ? Should I also installed the SSL on secondary Exchange ?

Also, Even I can use http, it will re-prompt the login screen for the secondary exchange . why ?

Yes, you need to install SSL on the other machine if you want the users to access there OWA through SSL. The reason is the OWA needs to access the mailbox and the mailbox is located on the 2nd machine.

If you tried to go to a mailbox on the 2nd machine but used it looks to see if there is a mailbox for that user on machine1. If it doesn't find it on machine1 it redirects you to the 2nd machine and will ask for your username and password again. It has to ask for your username and password the first time to find out what mailbox you want to access. The second time is because you have switched machines and you have to tell the new machine what mailbox you wnat to access.

I hope this helps.
