OWA shows a blank page after logon

I have an Exchange 2003 server running on Windows 2000 Server.

When I try to log onto OWA, I get the logon box (just like I used to), but it then redirects to a blank page with this error:

Line: 13
Char: 21
Error: Syntax error
Code: 0
URL: <my domain>/exchange

The big change before this happened was installing SP2 on the backend server (I inherited this system, and did not know it hadn't been patched) so that I could patch for DST.

I tried reinstalling Exchange on the front end server and I have gone through the delete / recreate web folders as listed in a couple places here on the site.

Any ideas?

I hate to bump, but does anyone have any thought on where I can look for a better error message? I am just not sure where to continue troubleshooting.

Tried the usual? Event Logs et al?

Thanks,

Steve.

Yep - I can't seem to find any error messages in the logs anywhere.

You must install Exchange SP2 on both front end and backend server. Microsoft suggest you install SP2 on Front end server first.

This might be a long shot, but the user needs to have an email address in their Active Directory that matches the Exchange Domain name.

For instance, we have 2 divisions here: email@domain1.com and email@domain2.com. In order for the domain2 users to properly use OWA, they need a domain1.com email address as well. (the domain that the Exchange Server logs on to)

Hope this makes sense as I generally don't describe issues well.

Kwbarron, were you able to resolve the issue? What did you end up doing? We have the same problem. Windows 2003 Server, exchange 2003. OWA quit working after SP1 installation (for the DST patch). thanks.

We had to (on the backend server) uninstall the dst patch, reinstall exchange 2k3 sp2, delete all of the OWA webs and rebuild them (at which point OWA was working) and then reinstall the DST patch.

Basically, the DST patch broke our SP2 somehow.
