OWA problem concerning IIS.

Hi, I recently had to reinstall IIS on our Exchange 5.5 server and now I cannot access the OWA website. I have reinstalled our digital certificate but I have noticed that in IIS management there is no folder or virtual directory for "exchange". I am almost positive that there is suppost to be a virtual directory pointing to "C:\exchsrvr\WEBDATA\USA" or wherever you have installed Exchange. Can someone check in IIS management and let me know if there is a virtual directory called "exchange". I did created a virtual directory pointing to that directory but I encountered an ASP error when I created it manually. Not sure how to get that back as it was probably installed during the initial install of Exchange 5.5.

Any other suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

I am hoping to avoid any reinstall of the Exchange 5.5 software if I can. The problem is happening after the reinstall of iis. Could you check in IIS management and let me know if there is a virtual directory called "exchange"?

Hi,

I read somewhere that if iis is reinstalled then OWA would need to be reinstalled...is this correct? I had to reinstall iis because of a problem with iis extensions as stated above, so to get OWA working again I would need to reinstall OWA to have exchange be resetup in iis management? Does anyone agree or disagree with this?

Yup, you must re-install OWA and service pack afterwards. Also, if you created any custom ASP logon pages, hopefully you have a backup, 'cause it will revert to the default from the install. I learned this the hard way.
