OWA Page Cannot Be Found Error

We are running Exchange 2000 with OWA loaded on a web server. Logging in to the OWA is no problem. Calendar works fine but when attempting to open certain messages (both internal and external) you get a "THE PAGE CANNOT BE FOUND" error message.

Any thoughts?

Was this server upgraded from 5.5?

Check the content of the subject line and you will probably find HTML illegal characters such as . or &. There are more, check out HTML illegal characters for list.

Thanks...it was illegal characters. We have modified the list to meet our needs.

Maybe you could help me get owa running via the internet.
It works for me only if I log in via vpn. Any help you
could provide would be greatly appreciated by me.

What type of questions do you have? Is your OWA server outside your firewall or in a dmz?

It is one server with win2000 server sbs, exchange.
I did not set it up. It is inside the firewall.
If I log on via vpn I can use my browser to connect.
I'm not sure what or where I should be looking at to
be sure of the correct functionality. Maybe if we start
at step 1 and go from there, it maybe helpful.
