OWA not authorized

We had OWA up and running like a champ for about a year. Recently we disabled Proxy server in favor of a Cisco firewall (Proxy was acting flacky).

Now I get a not authorized message in my internet explorer when trying to access my Exchange address -- at this point I'm attempting from an internal workstation (inside the firewall). I've checked the permissions in IIS.

Any suggestions on whats going on?

What services besides IIS do I need running (NT4, Exchange 5.5).

Thanks

Sounds like your firewall is causing the problem. Are you trying to access your Exchange server using its internal IP address or its external IP address? That is, of course, if you are using NAT to help hide your internal net from the outside. If your Exchange server is using only one address, that is the address is same inside as your outside address (what your MX record points to), then you need to review the firewall documentation to tell it is OK to let an internal address through.

At this point I am using the internal IP address.

I'm wondering if its a configuration remnant that is there from when we had proxy server running on the same box.

I would suggest doublechecking your Connections settings in Internet Explorer. In the version I am using (IE6 SP1), you can find it by clicking on Tools, Internet Options, the Connections tab, LAN Settings, then see what the Proxy Server settings are. We had a proxy server at one time too and if that setting was still checked on the workstation, it would generate an error. Take a look at your settings.
